Son concert du 9 novembre au Palais des Sports de Paris, Hugues Aufray l’a commencé en évoquant ses rapports avec des prix Nobel, les professeurs Monod (Médecine, 1965, avec François Jacob et André Lwoff) et Charpak (Physique, 1992 – rescapé de Dachau, lieutenant des Forces Françaises de l’Intérieur). Jacques Monod, pour lui avoir dit que les voyages dans la lune, c’est bien beau, mais le vrai travail pour nous, l’espèce humaine, se fait dans les laboratoires, sans fanfare.
Charpak, pour lui avoir entrouvert les portes de l’intrication quantique. On oublie cela, les premiers prix Nobel français, scientifiques. 1965, trois ans après huit ans de guerre en Algérie, si proche. On ne sait rien de l’intrication, l’enchevêtrement quantique, et il faut que ce soit un auteur compositeur qui en dise quelques mots, devant quatre mille spectateurs ! Cet enchevêtrement ? celui de deux particules, ou groupes de particules, qui forment un système interdépendant, d’états quantiques dépendant l’un de l’autre, quelle que soit la distance qui les sépare. Pas mal trouvé, non, comme introduction à trois heures de partage scène-public. Vous trouverez, dans Wikipedia ou ailleurs, ce qu’est la mécanique quantique – je retiens juste qu’elle est non déterministe…
Commentaire d’une spectatrice qui n’avait jamais assisté à un de ces concerts : « ça redonne du baume au cœur, quelqu’un qui est beau à regarder, beau à écouter, qui a de l’humour, lucide, » et qui est « à 96 ans, le même homme, intact, qu’il était en 1964-1966 ».
Alors, voilà : il vaudrait mieux bien faire attention à se dégager du temporel, de tout ce qui nous enfonce dans le marécage au jour le jour de « l’actuel », des actualités, telles qu’elles nous sont inoculées.
La guerre est finie, à Gaza ?
Dans ce cas, pourquoi plus de quinze cents immeubles ont-ils été rasés par l’armée israélienne, depuis le 10 octobre 2025 ?

Pourquoi deux cent cinquante Palestiniens ont-ils été abattus en un mois ?
La guerre est finie, si vous le voulez, avertissaient John Lennon, le Beatles assassiné, et Yoko Ono, sur les murs de New York, en 1969 (cf. notre dernière Lettre de Liaison, du 21 octobre). War is over, if you want it. C’est-à-dire qu’elle ne dure qu’avec votre consentement, votre accord.
Et il ne s’agit pas (que) de la vieille, longue guerre des Hébreux et des Philistins. Où que l’on se tourne, on trouve le conflit, l’exclusion, le jugement sans appel, la non-prise en compte de l’Autre. Le refus, en somme, d’entendre, d’écouter, de chercher à comprendre. Et encore plus, de mettre des actes en accord avec des paroles, des pensées.
Ajoutez la fausseté, l’hypocrisie ordinaire, la fuite des responsabilités, le défaussement.
Avec, en toile de fond, le découragement permanent, le renoncement, un égocentrisme amer et frileux, qui ressasse ses défaites subies, et la vanité de toute alternative.
Vous voyez bien qu’il ne s’agit pas encore de Gaza.
Une fois admis que la guerre d’annihilation menée là-bas d’octobre 2023 à maintenant n’a été possible qu’avec le consentement général, la passivité des personnes de tous pays et de leurs représentants.
Il est bien facile de critiquer Trump, Netanyahou, Macron & co, mais c’est oublier qu’ils ont été élus, avec une majorité de voix, au cours d’élections régulières, répétées. Relire La Boétie, son Discours de la servitude volontaire (au programme du Bac, en France, en 2026).
Où le bât risque de blesser : tous ceux, ici, qui ont voté « Macron » en 2022 ont voté pour la guerre contre les Russes, poussant plus loin les pires limites de la « guerre froide » (1947-1991). En connaissance de causes ? Que diront-ils lorsque cette guerre s’arrêtera, comme elles s’arrêtent toutes, faute de combattants, ou de profits suffisants ? Après combien de morts ?
Oser voir les choses en face : les guerres qui nous affectent le plus depuis 2022, 2023, ne se font qu’avec le soutien passif, la volonté opaque et profonde des millions (d’Américains, de Français, d’Israéliens…) qui les tolèrent, les approuvent, les justifient malgré eux, à longueur de temps.
Sortir du train-train quotidien, à la surface des ragots, des rumeurs, du papotage.
Reprendre de la profondeur de champ.
« Quel glas sonne pour ceux qui meurent comme du bétail ? » Wilfred Owen, poète anglais, tué le 4 novembre 1918 à Ors, dans le Nord, avec ses camarades du Second Manchesters, par les Allemands sur l’autre rive du canal. Une semaine avant l’armistice. L’un seulement des 885.000 Anglais et des deux millions d’Allemands massacrés dans cette boucherie industrielle de la Première Guerre Mondiale. Des Français ? un million quatre cent mille. Des Russes ? un million huit cent mille.
Voilà d’où nous venons. Près de dix millions d’hommes de troupe tués entre 1914 et 1918. Neuf millions de civils. Plus de vingt et un millions de soldats estropiés, mutilés, amputés. Ceux-là sont morts, se sont fait estropier à vie non tant « pour la France » ou « pour l’Allemagne » que pour les fabricants de canons Krupp et Schneider-Le Creusot.
A Ors, le 11 novembre 2025, ils étaient une centaine d’hommes, de femmes, et d’enfants, à se rassembler autour de la dernière demeure de Wilfred Owen, lieu de départ d’une première Marche pour la Paix. En raison, disent-ils, de « l’odeur de poudre qui flotte dans l’atmosphère actuelle » et d’une « menace qui plane comme dans les années 1930 » – que sait-on des pertes russes et ukrainiennes ? Les uns les évaluent à cent mille pour les Ukrainiens, trois fois plus pour les Russes.
Les marcheurs d’Ors se veulent « éveilleurs », « éducateurs de la conscience ». Ils ne sont pas seuls.
« Votre esprit tout entier est un brouillard que les Toltèques appellent un mitoté (…) dans lequel des milliers de personnes parlent en même temps, et personne ne comprend personne. » (Les Quatre Accords Toltèques).
Ces Lettres, comme autant de feux anti-brouillard, sachant combien le brouillard des mass media va continuer à s’épaissir tout autour de nous, « économie de guerre » oblige.
Si nous avions encore à préciser la partie qui est la nôtre, de Jérusalem et Naplouse à Strasbourg et Paris, ce serait en tant que sentinelles, veilleurs. Veilleurs bienveillants.
« Quand j’amène l’épée sur un pays, les gens de l’endroit choisissent l’un d’entre eux pour en faire une sentinelle. Si la sentinelle voit venir l’épée, il sonne la trompette pour donner l’alarme à la population. Pour conclure, provisoirement, sur une note moins comminatoire, c’est une question d’intérêt personnel. D’équilibre interne, d’harmonie profonde de la personne. De cohérence. De renforcement dans la résilience.
Si mon but est bien, après Giono, de comprendre ce monde qui est là, dont je fais forcément partie, et de le goûter de mes sens, autant ne pas le trouver âcre, amer, abject.
L’espérance statistique de vie en France, pour les hommes, étant de 80 ans, un peu moins de 86 pour les femmes, nous proposons une autre lecture du possible, d’autres modèles.
Fauja Singh, champion de marathon à cent ans, tué par une auto à 114 ans. Ernst Jünger, officier durant les deux guerres mondiales, écrivain, entomologiste, mort en 1998 dans sa 103ème année, dans son sommeil. Stéphane Hessel, résistant, diplomate, disparu en 2013 dans sa 96ème année…
Durer dans ce monde ? Aller aux limites convenues, et au-delà ? Les yeux ouverts.
La révoltante violence, l’hallucinante cruauté méthodique de ce qui s’est passé à Gaza de la fin 2023 jusqu’à maintenant, vous aideront peut-être à relativiser vos soucis et priorités, dans cette société de facilités et de centres commerciaux qui regorgent de toutes choses.
Le massacre des innocents à si peu de distance d’Ashkelon, de Tel Aviv, a été suffisamment documenté.

Le chiffre, depuis, est monté à plus de 69.000, en trois mois. On nous dit que la guerre est finie ?
Engagés auprès des vivants, des survivants, nous soutenons comme nous pouvons la famille Bilal – Massoud Bilal, cet universitaire deux fois déporté avec les siens entre octobre 2023 et septembre 2025. Aux dernières nouvelles (mardi 11 novembre), ils essayaient de rentrer chez eux, à Gaza City.
Voici ce qui reste de leur logement. Au premier étage de leur petit immeuble. Les étages supérieurs ont été plus lourdement dévastés. Nous avons vidé notre caisse pour eux (modique soutien de 400€). C’est peu, mais c’est une ligne de vie.
A ceux qui se poseraient la question légitime d’une parité : nos amis survivants israéliens et les réfugiés de Nir Oz, Kyriat Gat, ne manquent de rien. L’état hébreu pourvoit généreusement à leurs besoins, avec la diaspora. La reconstruction a bien commencé dans les kibboutz frontaliers saccagés par l’attaque du 7 octobre 2023.
Si vous pensez que cette situation, qui perdure à Gaza, est « normale » ou acceptable, faites-le nous savoir.

3. Le principe d’égalité.
C’est parce que tous les êtres humains sont égaux absolument que nous ne pouvons accepter aucun discours de discrimination. Ainsi, laisser des êtres humains croupir dans leur détresse, sous prétexte de fatalité ou d’impuissance, est le commencement même des systèmes d’extermination collective et de ségrégation. Nous n’acceptons aucune forme de séparatisme, d’apartheid, quelle qu’en soit la logique.
5. Le principe de défense des minorités, des opprimés.
L’oppression existe, sous de multiples masques, et nous la combattons, partout où elle déclenche son cortège de haines, de boycotts personnels, de refus du dialogue. Ce combat reste non-violent (…).
Vous laisser sur une note plutôt optimiste : la position française, concernant le Proche-Orient, est impeccable, et assez courageuse. Le Président français et son homologue palestinien ont annoncé, à Paris, ce 11 novembre, la création d’un Comité Conjoint franco-palestinien pour mettre au point la constitution de l’Etat palestinien. La France garde donc son cap sur la question, et marche devant, en Europe. C’est pour nous réconfortant.
