A shift in our stands ? For years, our sources were the mainstream Western media, from England, France, the US, and Israel, adding Al Monitor for the Palestinian angle. Until it became only too obvious that we needed Eastern sources, to balance. In May 2025 we then started scanning media from Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. Fair enough, when you’re dealing with the Middle-East.
Begging the question: how come we didn’t open these windows before ? Did you ?
Then came the flood of lies and deception of June 2025. On all sides, from Tehran to Washington. Unsavoury festival of grotesque postures and fake news (in Tehran they claimed they had shot three Israeli F35s down… in Washington, the Boss said he would give it two weeks, and his weeks morphed into days, etc.). Sickening after a while. As Friedrich Nietzsche put it : “I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.”
Bringing us back to all the previous strings of blatant lies used as excuses to start war, from the Tonkin Gulf incident, back in August 1964, used to send troops to Viet-Nam, to the infamous “Weapons of Mass Destruction” hoax in 2003…
The consequence of this accelerated loss of trust in June 2025 has been that we focused increasingly on our basic coexistence identity, and opened ourselves to such sources as United Nations News, UNICEF, Relief Web (Informing Humanitarians Worldwide), and we neglected media that had fallen into propaganda, or that were too state-controlled, lacking in content, analysis (among them some Israeli, Saudi, Jordanian, Lebanese media).
On top you will find two sources from Israel : Haaretz, and The Times of Israel, followed by Egypt Today, the BBC… We don’t care what the political colour of a source is supposed to be. What matters is the quality of the investigations into reality, facts on the ground, and the relevance of prospects opened.
It will be interesting to check how it all evolves in the summer of 2025, daily.
